Review of the Defence Reserve Service (Protection) Act 2001

The Defence Reserve Service (Protection) Act 2001 is designed to allow the men and women who serve in Australia’s Navy, Army and Air Force Reserves to enjoy appropriate levels of protection in their civilian occupations without burdening employers with unnecessary compliance.

A series of public consultation meetings were held in June and July 2007 at various locations across the country. The report is under final consideration by the review panel and is expected to be submitted to the Parliamentary Secretary for Defence for his consideration in mid 2008.
