Training Requirements
Annual service commitments will vary, depending on the role undertaken by the Reservist, their time availability, and the needs of the Service. Higher readiness roles generally require a greater annual commitment.
A 20-day minimum service period in each financial year establishes a Reservist’s eligibility for Long Service Awards, Health Support Allowance and subsidies under the Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme.
Flexibility is generally available for people whose civilian occupations do not allow them to fully participate in the training requirements.
